The cosplay shoot: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Five images follow two characters drawn from the world of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, portrayed by nanami and Starchild.

The first frame places them in an industrial setting of metal stairs, mesh railings and neon tubes running along the walls. Sparks rain down above their heads, hanging in the smoke as bright points. The palette is dominated by magenta and cyan, with the saturated yellow of the bomber jacket cutting through the coldness of the background. She stays low, almost grazing the floor, a pistol in hand and very pale hair falling across her face; he stands beside her, one arm extended diagonally out of the frame, filling the space horizontally. The relationship between the two figures reads as mutual cover, two silhouettes watching opposite sides of the same scene.

The second photograph shifts context: a bowling alley with lit lanes in the background, small tables and monitors. He is seated, body open and legs extended, a can in his hand; she stands behind, leaning on the structure, her weapon raised upward. The light here is more ambient, with green and purple casts coming from the venue itself.

The third returns to metal and grating, shot from a low point that stretches the figures upward: she is in the foreground with a rifle, eyes locked on the camera, while he stands further back with a raised closed fist, the yellow jacket burning against an orange and blue backdrop.

The last two are portraits. In one the face is caught in three-quarter view, makeup markings crossing the forehead and cheek, the dark crest fanning out. In the other the figure is seen from behind, one shoulder bare and the jacket pulled down, a row of applied implants running along the spine; the corridor behind dissolves into flat blue and pink.
