The cosplay shoot: A Rest From The Battle
The set follows Giulia Heartilly through two distinct settings, held together by the same figure: a white bob, a black dress with a deep neckline and high collar, long gloves, over-the-knee boots, and a katana with a decorated hilt.
In the first images the setting is an indoor staircase with dark steps and pale walls, crossed by a cool light that shifts toward lilac and blue. The blade rests on the floor and partly carries the weight of the pose, while the figure stays seated on the steps, legs open toward the camera, back slightly tilted. Details of the interior appear around her: a metal frame, a panel with a drawing of branches, a bed in the background, a rug. The palette is nearly monochrome, built on black, white and grey, with the only chromatic accent in the violet reflections on glossy surfaces.
One isolated image changes register: a flat white background, high diffused light, no furniture. The figure is seen from behind, face turned toward the lens and the sword held to one side; the outfit is reduced to a few black lines on bare skin, and the fishnet stockings remain the only graphic element on the legs.
The final part takes place on an unmade bed, with white sheets, pale pillows and one dark one, and a drawing on the wall. Here the light turns warm and soft, the palette moves toward cream and skin tones, and the sword disappears. The posture loosens: arms above the head, eyes closed, body settled into the fabric; in other frames the figure stands beside the mirror, covered only by a sheer veil, or gathers on the mattress with knees bent and one hand across the chest.
The shift from cold to warm, from staircase to bed, from weapon to sheets, is what structures the sequence.
