The glamour shoot: A Wild Naomi

Six photographs built around a whitewashed brick wall, a dark wooden floor and a tall metal-and-wood stool. The light is warm, amber in tone, falling from the side and creating a brighter halo on the wall behind the figure while pushing long shadows toward the edges of the frame. The palette stays tight: cream and rust in the background, brown leather, matte black fabrics, white socks.

Lady Naomi appears in a reinterpreted western outfit: a wide-brimmed leather-coloured hat, a top with sheer mesh panels, a short buckled leather skirt, a multi-strand pearl choker, white knee-high socks and brown boots with tapered toes. Long straight hair falls in front of her shoulders and often overlaps her face.

In the full-length images her body occupies the central band of the wall, weight shifted to one side, legs apart, forming diagonal lines that answer the vertical mortar joints. Her gaze is almost always directed at the lens, the expression steady. In one close-up portrait the hat is held in front of her face and fills the lower half of the frame like an almost abstract shape: only her eyes, forehead and hands with pale nails gripping the brim remain visible.

Other frames show her beside the stool, the hat resting between her legs, and standing while pulling at the elastic edge of a sock. The final image shifts register: from a glass raised above her head a stream of milk runs down over her chin, neck and top, forming thick trails on fabric and skin. The background stays identical throughout, and the overall atmosphere is that of a sequence shot in a single corner, somewhere between western irony and a glamour register.
