The glamour shoot: 50 shades of Cyber

Five outdoor images, all built around the same figure and the same green wall of hedge that fills almost the entire background. Cyber wears a long, close-fitting dress in a muted grey-green with a light ribbed texture that follows the body without interruption; the colour of the dress and the green of the foliage stay close in tone, so that skin and tattoos become the element that separates.

The light changes from frame to frame. In some shots it arrives low and from the side, filtering through the branches and leaving a pale veil along the edges, with the long wavy hair catching the backlight and turning almost white at the tips. In others the light is softer and more diffused, the green fades into dusty tones and the face emerges with restrained contrast. In one image the background opens onto a blue sky and a pale wall, and the scene becomes drier, with sharp shadows on the path.

Around the figure, details of the garden can be recognised: the dense hedge, a shrub in bloom with small white flowers, a terracotta pot resting on the ground, a stretch of walkway. None of these elements is in focus; they remain patches of colour that hold the depth.

The attitude is calm and frontal towards the lens, with the gaze often turned directly to the camera and the body oriented three-quarters or fully from behind. The movement appears minimal, almost suspended: small shifts of the torso and head that rotate the figure within the space without moving it away from the hedge, as if the background worked as a boundary. The hoop earrings, the dark lipstick and the tattoos on arms, shoulders and chest recur in every photograph and tie the series together, which stays entirely within a palette of greens, greys and warm skin tones.
