The glamour shoot: Red Is The Color

Red Is The Color gathers five images of Giudychan in a light-toned bedroom, where the red of a velvet bedspread becomes the only block of solid colour in the frame. Around it, the white of the padded headboard, the pale parquet, the wallpaper with stylised leaves and a round pendant lamp visible in several shots build a domestic, tidy setting, crossed only by a pinkish haze and by a vertical light bar that surfaces in the background.

The first image is the closest: the figure occupies the centre of the frame, copper hair falling long over one shoulder, the gaze going straight to the viewer. The clothing is a wide-mesh fishnet bodysuit with banded inserts and separate sleeves, matte black, reading as a grid of lines over the skin. The background dissolves into a pale mist and the red of the bed, with no competing detail.

The other four open up the field and show the whole room. In one the figure appears lying along the edge of the bed, seen from a very low point that stretches the legs down to the floor; in another she stands beside the mattress, back turned, face rotated towards the lens and one foot still resting on the ground. The last two find her on the bed, leaning on a white pillow, with a movement that seems suspended between two positions: the body still facing the far wall, the head already turned.

The palette stays constant and reduced: deep red, black, pale skin, neutral whites and a cool pink entering from the sides. The atmosphere is that of an afternoon shut indoors, with diffused light and no hard shadows, and with the figure moving through the space without ever leaving the perimeter of the bed.
