Strawberry Morning

The glamour shoot: Strawberry Morning

Four images set in a wide, bright interior, with pale walls, a polished stone floor and tall windows crossed by dark frames that cut the light on the diagonal. The light is soft and diffused, with a warm cast leaning towards honey and beige; edges soften and the whites open up without hardening. The palette stays restrained: sand, cream, terracotta, the muted green of a few houseplants and the tiny red of strawberries, which returns in the embroidery of the lingerie.

Zhora is photographed in white lingerie with floral details. In the first image she appears at a distance, seated on a corduroy sofa, framed through an opening that leaves blurred surfaces and a broad leaf in the foreground: the figure is small inside the room, and the space around her weighs as much as she does. The second image comes closer: she leans against the arm of the sofa with her head resting on her arms, her gaze turned towards the lens, wavy hair falling over one shoulder; behind her the window and a pale curtain stay out of focus.

In the third she is seen from behind, gathered on the floor beside the sofa, her back arched and a dark tattoo between her shoulder blades; in the background a hanging hammock, cushions on the floor, a low table and more plants. In the fourth, again from behind and against the light, she holds a white bowl of strawberries resting on her leg, her profile barely suggested among the curls, while the rest of the room dissolves into a luminous haze.

The atmosphere is that of a slow morning, without constructed gestures: the body moves through the house as through a familiar place, leaning, sitting on the floor, letting the furniture hold it. The relationship between figure and room shifts from one image to the next, moving from distance to the intimacy of detail, yet the tone remains even, quiet, suspended in the same light.
