The glamour shoot: Giulia@Lake

The set is split between two distinct environments, tied together by the same low, warm late-afternoon light. In the first images the model stands in a field of tall dry grasses, the stalks reaching nearly hip height and drawing golden vertical lines around the figure. The background opens onto a mass of dark, out-of-focus vegetation that closes the scene and lets the body and the loose blonde hair stand out. A long black lace dress, sheer and worked with floral patterns, is layered over a dark bikini: the contrast between the black and the ochre tones of the grass forms the chromatic base of this part of the set. The posture reads as relaxed, weight shifted onto one hip, the gaze returning to the lens in a direct relationship with the viewer.

In the second part the landscape changes: open water, blurred hills on the horizon, a sky with light clouds. The model stands knee- or thigh-deep, wet hair clinging to shoulders and back, skin holding droplets and reflections. Here the black bikini appears again, along with the same lace worn open across the arms and a light white shirt made almost transparent by the water. The palette shifts toward the blue of the lake and the warm pink of the raking light.

The final image, in horizontal format, shows the figure resting against a rock washed by the waves, legs stretched into the water and the body let back in a slower movement than in the preceding frames. In all the photographs the background stays soft and indistinct while the figure keeps its definition: the overall atmosphere is that of an afternoon winding down, with a gradual passage from the dryness of the field to the moving surface of the water.
