The modeling shoot: Bobby Sox

Five images set in an American-style diner, recognizable from the neon signs, the polished counters and the red seating. The palette stays consistent throughout: warm pink and red from the neon, the blue of the cardigan, the white of the shirt and the grey check of the skirt, with copper hair gathered into two braids that recur in every frame.

In the first portrait the light is pink and diffused, and the sign behind spells out the word REPEAT out of focus; the figure sits at a white table, leaning on its surface, looking toward the lens with a knowing, almost conspiratorial expression. A pale, blurred object in the foreground interrupts the frame, as if the viewer were seated on the other side of the same table.

The second image opens onto the room: the CINEMA lettering and the bulbs along the ceiling give depth, while the figure appears at the counter, balanced on a stool and reaching toward a dark glass. The body is turned three-quarters and the head comes back toward the camera, in a gesture caught halfway.

The third frame has a more neutral, daylight quality, with a checkerboard floor and red booths behind; the attention is entirely on the open menu on the table, head resting on one hand and eyes lowered, in a contained and distracted attitude.

The fourth image shows a red and white drinks dispenser filling almost the whole frame; the figure stands beside it in profile, looking out of frame while one hand stays on the machine.

The last returns to neon: a white ground with a pink and blue glow behind the shoulders, the shirt knotted at the waist, one braid held between the fingers and a direct gaze, stiller and more frontal than in the other frames.
