Moody With Color
16 photos
Images built around colour and an enclosed space: a bed, a low couch, a wall where light falls in horizontal bands, a floor lamp with a red shade left glowing in the background. The set plays with intimacy and colour to describe moods, and Naomi moves through these shifts showing all of her interpretive range in very intimate frames.
It begins in near-total darkness, where cold blue reveals little more than a profile and the red of the lamp marks the back of the room. Then the temperature warms: amber and orange mix with the blue, the stripes of light run across her body and the fabrics, and a black and white clapperboard appears beside her.
In the last frames blue takes over completely, saturated and even, with a few violet veils. Naomi stays seated, gathered into the space, her gaze sometimes toward the lens and sometimes elsewhere, still and held back.
