The modeling shoot: Cozy Winter

Cozy Winter gathers a sequence of images in which Naomi inhabits the rooms of a home crossed by daylight. Pale curtains filter the sun and give back a diffuse, almost milky brightness that settles on the parquet, the neutral walls and the bed linen. The palette stays on warm, muted tones: cream white, beige, pale pink, the wood of the floor, with a single counterpoint in the deep green of the wall and the dark seat of the armchair.

In the first images Naomi rests against a low armchair with a metal base, wearing a soft sweater that slips off the shoulders and white wool leg warmers. She holds a cup in her hands and her gaze goes toward the window or drops downward, in a self-contained attitude that seems to belong to a slow morning. Bare legs and bare feet on the wood reinforce the sense of a space lived in without formality.

Other photographs move to the bed: light sheets and duvet, white pillows, a lacquered wooden headboard and a black cushion as the only graphic accent. Naomi appears lying down or curled up, her body following the folds of the fabric, blonde hair spread across the bedspread. In one frame seen from above the figure arranges itself diagonally across the white, while the tattoos on her legs and hip emerge as dark details within the uniformity of the tones.

Another image shows her standing beside the window, between two curtains, the pink cup held in front of her chest and her eyes toward the camera. Here the light arrives frontally and flattens the shadows, leaving the face in evidence. Overall the set alternates different distances — full figures in the wide interiors, closer framings — keeping the same lukewarm temperature and the same domestic, wintry register of minimal gestures and quiet rooms.
